Francisco’s $$$ Speech

29 05 2011

This short Film is an excerpt from the infamous “Atlas Shrugged” by the great, Ayn Rand. The role was originally intended to cast an Argentinean Male, but I just went to audition anyway and good thing I did.
The set up: I am acting as Francisco, a well off hard working character. Francisca (me) is attending a ball with all of the high powered, and filthy rich in attendance. The boiling frustration at the very site of these individuals, who are at times referred to as “moochers” or “looters”, prompts this extremely heart felt speech.
I had soooooo much fun!!! As serious as I seem to be I was laughing hysterically every time they called “cut”, because the extras could not tell if I was seriously yelling at them or not. My acting skills were intact on this set. This was filmed simultaneously while I worked on “Stuck Between Stations” (a few posts down) and I was tired out of my mind, but I love the arts and I can never get enough. Thanks to the wonderful cast, crew and director Scott Seeger for casting me strictly on the basis of my talent, much appreciated.

Holiday Scene

18 11 2009

I just made it to the audition for this print ad 5 minutes before it was closed and thankfully I was determined enough to make it in spite of the days events. I met with Jess and Lindsey who you could tell both had artistic minds (I like that). Although our meeting was brief it was enough for them to decide to make me a part of the holiday online ad campaign. I am displaying a beautiful pair of star shaped mother of pearl earrings. Thank you to photographer Paul Bernhardt, Jess, Lindsey, and the entire staff of the Wedge/ Wedge-Worldwide.

Commercial Scene

Thank you to Vinny Curran who called me within the hour of my submission for this commercial to tell me they would love to cast me for the shoot. This was for the Mystic Lake Hotel & Casino where I was pleasantly surprised to see there was a casino that operated with a completely alcohol & smoke free environment (wow) which made it very easy to breath. There were two commercials shot in one day, one of which is scheduled to begin running Friday November 20 the other sometime in January. Watch!

I am so honored to have had the opportunity to work with RKB Pictures & be apart of this film. This was a really cool group of guys & I have a huge level of respect for their work ethic and professionalism. These photos of us were taken at 6 in the morning, after being on the set since 2 o’clock pm the day before but that’s the biz and I LOVE IT!!! Thank you guys I had a blast! Look for this film scheduled to be released in 2011.

The script for Stuck Between Stations was co-written by Minneapolis native Nat Bennett and male lead Sam Rosen (Casper). Independent film veteran Zoe Lister Jones (Rebecca) plays the female lead. The supporting cast includes Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down, Sin City) and Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos, Life on Mars).

Stuck Between Stations tells a coming-of-age/came-and-went story about Casper, a soldier haunted by the horrors of war, and Rebecca, a whip-smart grad student with a shaky future. A decade after they graduated from high school and went their separate ways, they reunite by chance and get to know each other over the course of an accidental tour of the little-known underbelly of Minneapolis. The evening’s odyssey includes a bar fight, a house party, a punk-rock circus, a spontaneous burglary, a home Casper didn’t know he had, and a cast of strange characters, unexpected allies and disappointing friends.

RKB Pictures, LLC was founded by star/writer Sam Rosen, director/producer Brady Kiernan and writer Nat Bennett. The company was formed in Minnesota during August, 2009 to produce Stuck Between Stations.

The Streets Scene

photo2_lisa-hartwellWhile working at the “State of Mind Music” office, I was wisked away to attend a taping of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta: Season 2 where Mrs. Lisa Hartwell (not the designer, but the brain child behind the brand) hosted a fashion show (where there were “Fashons” honey!) and after party sponsored by Closet Freak & her domestic violence foundation and a new drink Rhythm (which tastes like Kook-Aid). The event was great…..and the gift bags were even better and my girl Lisa was so fly (as always)!

I’d like to thank Jerrell Allen for the VIP access and Lisa & Edgerton Hartwell for being such a gracious hosts (that’s him in the background drinking the bottled was soo hot). I’m glad I was able to attend shot out to Devo Dwight, Micheal Knight, J-Holiday, Que Parker, Ms. A.J. Johnson (hope you found something good to eat girl), NeNe & Gregory Leakes (he is a real stand up dude), and the FAM: $tacks & Dent, … Oh & I don’t want to forget Polow Da Don (it’s been a minute good to see you homie), Teyanna Taylor, Jazze Pha, & Tony Rock (who I ran into at another party). Overall….. the night was a lot of fun….. but most of all productive and that’s what it’s really all about (for me at least). I hope you all enjoy your weekend, have fun & drink responsibly.

Love Ya,

Earth Day Scene

The Gulf of Mexico
I’m not sure how you chose to show your love for the Planet Earth yesterday but I’d love to hear about it ;-)…

I spent the day on the beach in Florida and was it ever so perfectly warm & beautiful!!!!!! I laid out, got a little tan, read over some monologues, and just took out the time to appreciate the beauty of nature (with the phone powered off). I also took out some time to mingle with the other beach-goers and share with them tips on composting and encouraged them to recycle their empty beer alcohol and water bottles once they leave the beach. It felt really good to personally interact with people (instead of texting/ twitting/ IMing etc.) and to make it an exciting interaction about being good to the future of our Planet was the cherry on top. That felt REALLY good!!! Feel free to share your Earth Day experience and/ or any tips & suggestions you may have to help show a little more love to the Planet.
